General Home Visits Policy
Home Euthanasia Vet provides home visits solely for pet euthanasia or discussions regarding Quality of Life. We do not diagnose or treat illnesses, nor do we offer second opinions. Visits can be arranged by phone during most daytime and weekend hours. We accept euthanasia referrals from unrelated veterinary clinics.
Home Euthanasia Vet might request the history of the pet from your usual Veterinary Clinic, after the owner has agreed to disclose it.
Payment Policy
Payment is required at the time of booking. A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total visit fee is included in the amount collected when the appointment is arranged. Payments are accepted via BACS transfer or through a secure Payment Link sent by text or email, which you can complete using a credit or debit card.
Rescheduling, Cancellations, and Non-Refundable Deposit
All appointments require a non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total visit fee. If you reschedule the appointment, the deposit will still be valid for the new appointment, however please note that the price changes out of hours, at weekend and bank holidays. If you cancel, the deposit is forfeited.
If information provided by the client proves to be incorrect on arrival, the full visit fee may be retained—especially regarding our required COVID-related questions at booking. If the attending vet determines that it is unsafe to proceed with the visit, up to the full fee may be forfeited.
If the arranging client is not present at the agreed time, the deposit will also be forfeited. Should Home Euthanasia Vet cancel the appointment for business or personal reasons, the deposit will be refunded, except where cancellation is due to incorrect or misleading information provided by the client.
Once an appointment is booked, Home Euthanasia Vet is not obliged to reschedule if the pet’s condition worsens or if the appointment is cancelled for any of the reasons above. In these situations, you should contact your usual veterinary clinic immediately.
The non-refundable deposit covers the cost of time, travel, and scheduling disruption.
If, during a visit, we determine after discussion that euthanasia is not appropriate and the procedure does not proceed, the full fee remains payable as a charge for the professional time and support provided.
Refunds may be subject to a small administrative fee.
Communication
Please note that text messages, emails, and voicemails are not monitored continuously during the day, and not at all outside regular business hours.
Do not text, email, or leave a voicemail for an after-hours emergency. For urgent veterinary help, please contact your regular vet or emergency service directly.
Right to Decline a Visit
Home Euthanasia Vet reserves the right to decline a visit in certain situations, including but not limited to:
Requests outside our standard service area.
Situations where there are safety concerns, such as aggressive pets or health risks (e.g. COVID-19).
Short-notice visits.
Situations where it is unsafe for the pet or people involved. In such cases, we recommend contacting your usual vet or an out-of-hours clinic.
Cancellation or Abandonment on Arrival
Home Euthanasia Vet reserves the right to cancel or abandon a euthanasia procedure on arrival if necessary. This could be a result of: safety risks to people, pets, or property, aggressive behaviour, or if false or misleading information was provided when booking.
Home Euthanasia Vet is able to offer transfers to the pet crematorium for both communal and individual cremation services.
You will be charged a travel fee and a communal cremation fee at the time of the appointment.
