We enclose the most common questions asked with regard to pet euthanasia however, we are always on hand should you wish to ask any other questions or need further advice.
Pet euthanasia is a gentle and humane way of saying goodbye when a pet’s quality of life has declined and they are suffering from illness, pain, or the effects of old age. It is often considered when treatment is no longer improving your pet’s comfort or wellbeing. Every situation is unique, and we are here to help you make this difficult decision with compassion and honesty.
Many owners struggle with this decision. Signs that your pet’s quality of life may be declining include persistent pain, difficulty breathing, inability to eat or drink, loss of mobility, incontinence, confusion, or no longer enjoying the things they once loved.
If you’re unsure, we can discuss your pet’s condition and help you decide what is best for them.
Yes. Home euthanasia allows your pet to remain in familiar surroundings where they feel safe and relaxed.
It also gives you and your family the privacy and time to say goodbye without the stress of travelling to a veterinary practice.
The appointment is never rushed. We begin by talking through the process and answering any questions you may have. Your pet is usually given a gentle sedative to help them relax before the final medication is administered. Once your pet is peacefully asleep, the euthanasia injection is given, allowing them to pass away calmly and without pain.
You are welcome to spend as much time with your pet afterwards as you need.
Yes. Our priority is to ensure your pet remains calm, comfortable and free from distress. Most pets become sleepy after the sedative and drift peacefully to sleep before the final injection is given.
The process is designed to be as gentle and peaceful as possible.
Choose a quiet, comfortable place where your pet enjoys resting, such as their favourite bed or a sunny spot in the garden if appropriate. You may wish to have family members present, gather favourite blankets or toys, and think about any keepsakes you would like afterwards.
There is no right or wrong way to prepare—we will guide you through everything.
Absolutely. Many families find comfort in being with their pet until the very end. Children and other pets can also be present if you feel it is appropriate.
We will support your wishes and ensure the experience is as peaceful as possible.
After your pet has passed away, you are welcome to spend as much time with them as you need. If you have arranged cremation or if you want us to arrange it for you, we will respectfully transport your pet.
If you prefer a home burial where legally permitted, we can advise you on the next steps.
Yes. We can arrange both individual and communal cremation through trusted local pet cremation providers. Individual cremation allows your pet’s ashes to be returned to you in a chosen urn or keepsake if you wish.
The cost depends on factors such as your location, your pet’s size, whether the appointment is during normal hours or out of hours, and whether cremation is required. We provide clear pricing with no hidden fees, and we are happy to discuss costs before you book.

Monica provided exactly what it was that our hearts needed during the difficult time that comes when saying goodbye to our beloved old boy. Nobody wants to say goodbye to their pets, but we all know eventually that time will come. For our shy greyhound, Sneeze, we wanted to remove the stress and anxiety of a visit to the vets in his final hour. So finding a service that would visit us at home was important to us, for him. We wanted him to feel safe, calm and relaxed in his home environment and that was exactly the experience we had. Monica was supportive, professional and respectful throughout. She took a moment to introduce herself to our dog and took the time with us to explain everything to expect. Further reassuring us with the extra considerations needed with the greyhound breed. She gave our boy the peaceful and dignified end we had hoped for. I would not hesitate to recommend Monica to anyone looking for to give their pet the same.

We had Monica visit us over the weekend to carry our old boy to a dignified and peaceful place. He was in pain and the decision was difficult but Monica made the process easier and very supported. Rocky was made comfortable before he was pts. Highly recommended if you are in that situation with your beloved pets. Thanks so much 🙏

We didn’t know where to turn at a time of crisis over a bank holiday weekend when our dog was having fits and in distress. Monica was immediately supportive and reassuring with her expert knowledge. Our dog passed away before she could get to us so we had to cancel her whilst she was en route. She refused a call out fee instead suggesting we put it towards the dogs cremation fees. My daughter was so very grateful at a time when she was overwhelmed with grief losing her most faithful friend. A pet dying is not something you plan for but we have given her name to several friends to keep on file in case the day you never want, arrives. Thank you Monica 🙏

I experienced Monica as very empathetic and accommodating during our first conversations. I was impressed by her deep concern for the well being of the animal as well as her generosity of spirit. On the day, Monica was calm, compassionate and professional. Her clinical experience was apparent. It is never easy to say goodbye to a beloved friend but we took comfort in knowing that he was in good hands and as unstressed as possible. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend home euthanasia and Monica’s services in particular .

We recently had to make the heartbreaking decision to say goodbye to our beloved cat who was 21 years old, and I just want to thank Monica for the kindness and compassion she showed me. She was so gentle and calm, explained everything clearly, and gave me the time I needed without any pressure. She treated our cat with such care and dignity, which meant everything in that moment. It was an incredibly difficult experience, but Monica made it as peaceful as it possibly could be. I’ll always be grateful for the way she supported us through it.

My poor Buster reached the grand age of 18 when I had to let him go over the rainbow bridge. I needed to have this done at home so his furry companion who's been with him his whole life was able to say goodbye and understand what was happening. This is where Monica came in, after scouring the interest for days trying to come to terms with it and trying to find the right person, I came across Monica's site. I made an online enquiry and recieved a call the next day, the moment i spoke with her i knew she was going to be the one to help me and my boys with this tough time. I cannot thank her enough for her compassion throughout the process, she was so kind and caring and talking to my poor boy throughout promising she wasnt going to hurt him. Monica made a tough decision that I had to make a lot easier through her professionalism. Hopefully I will not need to do this again for many years, but when the next time does come I would not hesitate to contact Monica again. From the bottom of my families both human and furry hearts, thank you Monica for helping my boy go peacefully.

I cannot thank the team enough for their kindness and professionalism during such a difficult time. They made the whole process calm and peaceful for both us and our pet, allowing everything to happen at home where our pet felt safe and comfortable. Their compassion and respect truly meant a lot to our family. However, it was an emotional experience, as expected, but the support and understanding we received made it a little easier to say goodbye. I would highly recommend this service to anyone facing this heartbreaking decision.
